Willie Wood MBE - Lawn Bowls

Born in Haddington, Wood now lives in Gifford where he plays for the Gifford Bowling Club. Willie first represented his country in 1966 and has subsequently played in a record-breaking eight Commonwealth Games, winning two gold, one silver and one bronze medals. He is the most capped Scottish Commonwealth Games athlete ever with over 130 appearances for Scotland over the last 40 years. He has also won seven major international tournaments and 15 World Championship medals in his illustrious career. Commonwealth Games:
