Barbell
The barbell consists of:
The Bar
The men’s bar weighs 20kg.
The Discs
Must be the following weights and colours:
25kg Red 2.5kg Red
20kg Blue 2kg Blue
15kg Yellow 1.5kg Yellow
10kg Green 1kg Green
5kg White 0.5kg White
The Collar
In order to secure the discs to the bar, each bar must be equipped with two collars weighing 2.5kg each.
Uniform
The weightlifting costume must meet the following regulations:
- May be a one- or two-piece, but it is mandatory that the costume cover the trunk of the competitor
- Must be close fitting
- Must be collar-less
- Must not cover the competitors elbows or knees
Competitors wear weightlifting shoes/boots to protect their feet and give them stability and a firm stance on the competition platform.
Competitors may wear a weight belt, the maximum width of the belt may not exceed 120mm and it must be worn over the weightlifting costume.
