Competition Format
Teams are allocated into four pools with teams within a pool playing each other in a round-robin format.
In Delhi a total of 16 teams competed for one gold medal.
The top two in each pool progress through to the Cup and Plate competitions whist the third and fourth placed teams contest the Bowl and Shield competitions. A knockout format is then played to decide final positions.
