Competition Format
Badminton includes singles and doubles events for both men and women, a mixed doubles event and a team event.
In Delhi 2010 there were a total of six gold medals contested in Delhi over 11 days of competition.
Singles and doubles events involve a sudden death knockout draw, with the best players progressing through to medal matches.
The team event is grouped as follows: 8 - 12 entries - 2 pools, 13 or more - 4 pools.
Each pool plays in a round robin format with two teams going through from each group i.e. 4 groups - 8 teams would go through to a quarter final, semi final and final.
