Stirling Work Continues At Tollcross

Construction work on the Tollcross International Swimming Centre, venue for the Swimming competition at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, reached a landmark stage when a truss measuring 78 x 7.5 x 4.2 metres and weighing 152 tonnes will be installed by two 500-tonne cranes.

With the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow now less than three years away, Commonwealth Games Scotland (CGS) is well on track with its operational planning for the team. Today CGS has circulated to member sports the General Selection Policy it proposes to use, to select the athletes who will represent Team Scotland at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Landmark Week In St Kitts For Commonwealth Games Family

Commonwealth Games Scotland officials have been attending the Commonwealth Games Federation General Assembly in St Kitts this week, where they have contributed to some landmark decisions affecting future Games. In the vote to decide the host city for the 2018 Games, Gold Coast Australia beat Hambantota, Sri Lanka 43 - 27. A number of significant changes to the sports programme were also made.
