Athletics
Repeating her Edinburgh success was Liz McColgan (nee Lynch) with 10,000m Gold. Yvonne Murray also medalled again along with McColgan in the 3,000m to continue their great Scottish and World rivalry.
Lawn Bowls
The Bowls competition saw the re-emergence of Willie Wood. His Fours team which took Gold included 1986 Pairs Gold medallist George Adrain whilst Richard Corsie announced his arrival on the Commonwealth stage with a Bronze in the Singles.
Boxing
Boxer Charlie Kane also built on his Edinburgh bronze striking Gold in the Light Welterweight class.
Judo
Judo made its debut at these Games and Scotland had instant success winning eight medals including Gold for Loretta Cusask making them the most successful sport for Scotland at the Games.
Gymnastics
Scotland also competed in Gymnastics for the first time.
Shooting
In Shooting Alistair Allan was for once medal-less but Scotland still struck Gold through the Skeet Pairs with Jim Dunlop and Ian Marsden.
Overall, medals were won in six of the 10 sports with Badminton, Cycling and Swimming not quite matching medal winning achievements of 1986.
