Jon Doig
Chief Executive

Chief Executive of the Games Council since May 2001, Jon previously worked for the national sports agency sportscotland managing their High Performance Team. Duties there included co-ordinating the development of the Scottish Institute of Sport, initiating the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame project and providing technical support to the Games Council prior to and at the 1998 Kuala Lumpur Games where he was an Assistant General Team Manager to the Bank of Scotland Scottish Team. Jon has since acted as assistant General Team Manager at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and General Team Manager at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games

A resident of Menstrie and native of New Zealand, Jon previously worked for the Hillary Commission, the national sports agency of New Zealand, in the areas of coaching, sports science, Fair Play and Anti Doping. His sporting background also includes senior management roles at two World University Games and a background as a competitive swimmer and water polo player winning NZ University honours.
Adrienne Sunderland
Office Manager

Office Manager, Adrienne, joined the CGS in 2003 from the Scottish Institute of Sport where she provided Programme Team support to the athletes and coaches for the sports of Badminton, Curling, Golf, Judo, Rugby, Strength and Conditioning and Swimming.

Her love of sport began at school where she was girls sports champion for five years, competing at County and Inter-county level in the 100 and 200yds, long jump and hurdles.

A graduate in Administration from the University of Strathclyde, Adrienne was the first female to be elected as President of the University's Sports Union. She is a keen skier and represented the university at Scottish and British Universities' Championships. She also represented the University at the first ever BUSF Grass Skiing Chanpionships coming 3rd in the Ladies Slalom and helping Strathclyde to take 3rd Team place.

Although participation nowadays is limited to skiing holidays and regular sessions in the gym, she is a keen spectator, especially at rugby matches, from internationals to Strathendrick where her two sons began playing.

Vicky Strange
Games Team Operations Manager
Vicky joined CGS in April 2009 as its first full-time Games Team Operations Manager. Having previously worked as the Manager of the Tayside and Fife Institute of Sport for 6 years Vicky brings with her a wealth of experience. Vicky has also worked as Coaching Development Officer for Sport Tayside and was a key member of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Holding Camp management team.
During the forthcoming Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games Vicky will take on the role of Team Scotland General Team Manager.
Vicky is a sporting and outdoors fanatic. She recently returned from a 2-year cycling trip which saw her visit 17 different countries around the world.
