Following the successful Commonwealth Games of 2002, Jack McConnell MSP, then The First Minister, made a commitment to establish an Endowment Fund to support Scotland's future Games Team preparations. In 2003, with an initial grant of £2.5 million, The Scottish Commonwealth Games Endowment Fund was established, with Trustees drawn from the Games Council and sportscotland (on behalf of the Scottish Government).
The initial funding is invested and net interest can be drawn down to support future activities. As part of the grant, a challenge was made to Scotland's business communty to match this investment. If you would like more information on activities and opportunities, contact:
