Commonwealth Games Scotland (CGS) is the lead body for Commonwealth Sport in Scotland.

The Commonwealth Games is the only multi-sport event in which Scotland competes as Scotland.

Commonwealth Games Scotland' is responsible for selecting, preparing and managing Scotland's Team at the Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Youth Games - 'Preparing for Success'.

 

Commonwealth Games Ccotland aims to deliver the best prepared team possible, creating the right environment and giving athletes every opportunity to excel at the Games - 'Enabling athletes to excel'.

Commonwealth Games Scotland is drving toward its plans for Team Scotland success in Delhi 2010, Isle of Man 2011, Glasgow 2014 and laying the foundations for success at all Games thereafter.

 

Commonwealth Games Scotland relies on funding from its public sector partner sportscotland and commercial sponsors and is also an active fundraiser.  In addition CGS receives support for team preparations from the Commonwealth Games Endowment Trust.  However, the success of the team also depends on the collective resources to the whole of Scottish sport.

 

Scotland has a strong track record in Commonwealth sport and is actively committed to its future development.
