2006 Holding Camp Sport Managers and Holding Camp Administration Manager
The Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland (CGCS)
is the agency responsible for selecting, preparing and managing Scottish
Teams to compete in each Commonwealth Games. The next Commonwealth Games
are to be held in Melbourne, Australia in March 2006. As part of the
preparation of the 2006 Scottish Team immediately prior to competing
in these Games, the CGCS is planning to operate a Holding Camp located
in Bendigo approximately 90 minutes from Melbourne.
The CGCS are now seeking to appoint staff to work at the Bendigo Holding Camp for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games. Up to three Sport Managers and an Administration Manager are required. The final number will depend upon the Melbourne 2006 sport programme and individual sport preparation programmes that are yet to be finalised. All posts are unpaid and will involve approximately
6 weeks in Australia in February and March 2006 as well as various commitments
up to this point. The appointed individuals will work as part of a small
team running all aspects of a Holding Camp for the majority of athletes
in the 2006 Scottish Team. Job Descriptions, Candidate Specifications
