Bendigo 2004 - General Introduction

In addition to being the venue for the 2004 Youth Games, Bendigo, which is located 150km northwest of Melbourne will also play host to the Scottish holding Camp for the 2006 Commonwealth Games. It will also be the venue for the 2006 Games Full Bore Rifle Shooting at the refurbished Wellsford Rifle Range.

2004 Selection policies were developed with the participating sports and the Scottish Youth Games Team announcement was made in mid September. Athletes born in 1986 or later were eligible for selection.

Scotland's young athletes performed well returning with a haul of 52 medals - 12 Gold, 17 Silver and 23 Bronze and finishing 4th in the overall medal table. For further information and results see Bendigo News.
